Thanks , this worked for me.
I downouaded the Canon Driver for Windows 8.1 (64 bit). and and then I ran it in compatibilty mode for Windows 8, exactly as you instructed.
i though I was going to have to scrap my perfectly expert hardware, merely information technology'due south working fine again now!

Information technology hasn't worked for me. I followed the instructions merely the only affair that appears under the apps button are a readme file and an uninstall app.

I would advise you to follow below mentioned steps to perform Clean Boot and check if that helps:
1. Press "Windows key + R", in the Run box type "msconfig" and Press "Enter"
two. Click on "services" tab, click "Hide all Microsoft services" in the left bottom.
3. And then click on "Disable all" on the right bottom.
4. Now click on "Startup" tab, click on "Open up task manger".
5. Highlight the startups and click on "Disable" on the right bottom.

This did nothing. Incidentally in my version of windows ten it is necessary at step four to right click on hardware and devices to get the run as administrator option.
